Overview

The Engineering Lead is the primary focal point for Security Engineering functions within the customer’s Network Security Operations Center. They are responsible for designing, developing and deploying security related systems and security in systems. They are focused on the core principles of ensuring the confidentiality of the data, integrity of the data and the system, and availability (CIA) of the data and the system. 

Responsibilities

  • Ensures CIA and integral components are implemented throughout the systems and data’s lifecycle, from design to decommission.
  • Ensures all design and procedural deliverables meet quality standards and performance requirements.
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) in cyber security engineering, research and development.
  • Responsible for designing, developing and deploying security related systems and security in systems.
  • Focused on the core principles of ensuring the confidentiality of the data, integrity of the data and the system, and availability (CIA) of the data and the system.
  • Develops new tools, techniques, and tactics for the NSOC.
  • Uses innovative technologies and lateral thinking to resolve challenges.
  • Acts as a senior consultant in complex or mission critical client requirements.
  • Develops, modifies, and applies computer modeling and programming applications to analyze and solve mathematical and scientific problems affecting system and program performance.
  • Participates in all phases of scientific and engineering projects such as research, design, development, testing, modeling, simulating, training, and documentation.
  • Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
  • Plans and leads major technology assignments.
  • Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
  • Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.

Qualifications

  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI
  • Certifications: PMP, CISSP, and CEH are required
  • Education and experience: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college and 5+ years concentrated in the field of cyber security with intimate knowledge of operations, incident response, and management.
  • Skills: Familiar with data analytics, cloud, virtualization, remote access and secure mobile technologies. A broad knowledge of security technologies, processes and strategies is required. Knowledge of security policy and technical standard development, secure infrastructure design reviews, multi-tiered trust zone structures, and complex networking through multiple level network security structures. Knowledge of NIST and FIPS security controls. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products to include Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and work as part of a team. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication and client facing skills.
